1. Introduction

1.1    Random Array Ltd, trading as Chored (“we” and “Chored”) are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy when you use our Platform or otherwise communicate with us.

1.2   This policy (together with our Terms of Service (the “Terms”) and any other documents referred to therein) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.

1.3    Any term capitalised but not defined within this Privacy Policy shall have the meaning as defined in the Terms.

1.4   Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it. By visiting and/or using the Platform you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1.5   For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the “Act”), the data controller is Random Array Ltd, a limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 09154886 and have our registered office at 11 Holland House, 42 Newington Green, London, N16 9PQ.

2. Information we may collect from you

2.1   We may collect and process the following information about you:

(a)    Information you give us. You may give us information about you by filling in forms on the Platform or by corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise. This includes information you provide when you download the mobile application, register to use the Platform, use its services (including the sharing of data via the Platform’s social media functions), entering any promotional offers and when you report a problem with the Platform. The information you give us may include, but is not limited to:

(i)  your name;

(ii)  your date of birth;

(iii)  your home address;

(iv)  your e-mail address;

(v)  your phone number;

(vi)  your utility provider(s) and other third parties for which you set up payments to using the Platform (including any specific customer reference number(s) relating to you);

(vii)  your geographical location; and

(viii)  financial and credit card information.

(b)  Information we collect about you. With regard to each of your visits to the Platform we may automatically collect the following information:

(i)  technical information relating to the computer device you use to access the Platform, including the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, your login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform;

(ii)  technical information relating to the mobile device you use to connect to the Platform, including a unique device identifier (for example, your device’s IMEI number, the MAC address of the device’s wireless network interface, or the mobile phone number used by the device), mobile network information, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile browser you use, time zone setting;

(iii)  information about your visit, including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL) clickstream to, through and from the Platform (including date and time); page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), methods used to browse away from the page and any phone number used to call our customer service number.; and

(iv)  We may also use GPS technology to determine your current location where you choose to enable the “Who’s home” location tracker function, which requires your personal data for the feature to work. If you wish to use this particular feature, you will be asked to consent to your data being used for this purpose.

(c)  Information we receive from other sources. We also work closely with third parties (including, for example, business partners, sub-contractors in technical, payment and delivery services, advertising networks, analytics providers, search information providers) and may receive information about you from them. We may also receive information about you from third parties for which you have set up payment plans using the Platform.

3. Uses made of the information

3.1  We use information held about you in the following ways:

(a)  Information you give to us. We will use this information:

(i)  to enable us to provide the services on the Platform and to provide you with the information and services that you request from us;

(ii)  to provide you, or permit selected third parties to provide you, with information about goods or services we feel may interest you. If you do not want us to use your data in this way, or to pass your details on to third parties for marketing purposes, please tick the relevant box situated on the form on which we collect your data;

(iii)  to notify you about changes to our service;

(iv)  to ensure that content from the Platform is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer; and

(v)  to deal with any breach by you of the Terms or applicable laws.

(b)  Information we collect about you. We will use this information:

(i)  to administer the Platform (including the location tracking and social media services) and for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical and survey purposes;

(ii)  to improve the Platform to ensure that content is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer;

(iii)  as part of our efforts to keep the Platform safe and secure;

(iv)  to measure or understand the effectiveness of advertising we serve to you and others, and to deliver relevant advertising to you; and

(v)  to make suggestions and recommendations to you and other users of the Platform about goods or services that may interest you or them.

(c)  Information we receive from other sources. We may combine this information with information you give to us and information we collect about you. We may us this information and the combined information for the purposes set out above (depending on the types of information we receive).

4.  Disclosure of your information

4.1  We may share your personal information with any member of our group from time to time, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, as defined in section 1159 of the UK Companies Act 2006.

4.2  We may share your information with selected third parties including analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of the Platform.

4.3  We may disclose your personal information to third parties:

(a)  in the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.

(b)  if Random Array Ltd or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by it about its customers will be one of the transferred assets.

(c)  If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our Terms of Service and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Random Array Ltd, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

5.  Our use of cookies and web beacons

5.1 Cookies are text files stored, either on a temporary or persistent basis on the hard drive of your computer. Cookies are used for authenticating, session tracking and maintaining specific information about the use and users of the Platform.

5.2  The data collected by cookies is anonymous. You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer or mobile device’s by deleting them. In addition, if you want to stop cookies from being stored on your computer or mobile device, you can edit your browser settings so that cookies are blocked. 5.3  Web beacons consist of a small string of software code that represents a graphic image request on a page or email. There may or may not be a visible graphic image associated with the web beacon and often the image is designed to blend into the background of a page or email. Web beacons can be used for many purposes – including site traffic reporting, unique visitor counts, advertising auditing and reporting, and personalization. Web beacons used by collect only anonymous data.

5.4  In order to improve the Platform and the services we offer you, we may use (temporary and persistent) cookies, authorized third parties cookies, web beacons and/or other technologies to collect non-personally identifiable data. This non-personally identifiable data helps us to track browsing behavior, to create specific or tailor-made offers or advertisements, and to monitor and record the visits and use of the Platform.

5.5  In order to understand how people use the Platform and for marketing analysis and quality improvement purposes, we (and/or third party service providers) may collect, record, process and use on an anonymous basis certain information (including the total number of transactions, viewed pages, referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp information and details like the number and location of mouse clicks on a given page, mouse movements, scrolling activity and the search words you use while being on and using the Platform.

5.6  If you register with us or if you continue to use the Platform, you agree to our use of cookies.

6.  Where we store your personal data

6.1  The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

6.2  All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. Any payment transactions will be subject to MangoPay’s encryption policy and technologies. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of the Platform, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

6.3  Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to the Platform; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

6.4  Certain Services provided by us include social networking, chat room or forum features (for example, the Fridge and the shared rota management system). Please ensure when using these features that you do not submit any personal data that you do not want to be seen, collected or used by other users.

7.1  The Platform may include links to third party websites. We are not responsible for the content of third party websites. Please ensure that prior to using any such website, you have read and understood its Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions. These documents will govern your rights and obligations when using the relevant third party website.

8.  Your rights

8.1  You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. We will usually inform you (before collecting your data) if we intend to use your data for such purposes or if we intend to disclose your information to any third party for such purposes. You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by checking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your data.

8.2  The Platform may, from time to time, contain links to and from the websites of our partner networks, advertisers and affiliates. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. Please check these policies before you submit any personal data to these websites.

9.  Access to information

9.1  The Act gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Act. Any access request may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.
